Donner Yellow Fall Delay Guitar Pedal Review

The Donner Yellow Fall Delay Guitar Pedal is a vintage analog delay effect primarily used for electric guitars. But really, what’s stopping you from attaching one of these to almost anything else? This inexpensive little pedal shouldn’t fool you with its low price. We’ve been using this thing for a while and it does the job without fail.

Controls

The Donner Yellow Fall has three simple controls. These controls consist of echo, feedback and time. Echo adjusts the delay level which translates to how much of the effect you hear in the sound. Feedback controls the amount of delay or the number of repeats. Time simply controls the delay time or the frequency of the repeats.

A simple foot switch turns the effect on or off. The Donner Yellow Fall features a true bypass when off which means untouched signal when not in use. Finally there is an indicator that shows if the pedal is on or off.

Effect

The Donner Yellow Fall has a completely analog effect that smooth and warm which can fit in to many music styles. You will notice nearly no additional noise in the signal when the pedal is switched on. Personally I like this pedal within the effects loop on the amp but it does perform well when no loop is available.

In addition to the preference to use it within the effects loop we find it best having it earlier in the loop when used with other pedals. As always, experimentation will get you the best sound you are looking for.

Construction

The pedal is constructed of a sturdy aluminum including a great feeling foot switch. The rubber bottom does a pretty good of preventing it from sliding around. In the end, the pedal’s small size makes it perfect for being attached to a pedal board.

Power and Conclusion

The pedal requires 9V of power from a power supply. There is no provision for using with a battery.

This pedal can easily compete with some more expensive pedals. Its small size maximizes room on a board. It’s easy to use with a great sound. Get one a give it a try!
