Ibanez BigMini Tuner Pedal

If you are looking for a tuner pedal this might be the best answer for you. Small size, good price and just the right features make this a permanent part of my pedal board.

I recently made the switch from a modeling type amp with all the built in effects and extras to a straight up amp with real tubes, an EVH5150 LBX Stealth. This change meant that I no longer had any built in effects or features with the exception of killer distortion.

In some ways this seems like moving backward but in reality I looked forward to having options with varying effects and other in-line accessories. There are so many options in pedals that make the built in features in some amps seem limiting.

Why a Tuner Pedal?

Some people like those neck tuner things and other kind of tuners that are not part of the signal chain. I personally like having a tuner that I can see in the dark at the control of my foot. A quick click and the display clearly shows where my guitar is at. A good tuner in the chain will not add any additional sound into the signal when not in use. Most tuners will also cut off the sound when activated so no one needs to hear the tuning process.

Our Take on This Tuner

It’s hard to provide much more of a review on this except for the fact that it does what it supposed to do. It’s easy to read, easy to switch and its small size lets it get squished into your pedal board without taking up much space.
